Gene's Footnotes

I have never been impressed by the messenger and always inspect the message, which I now understand is not the norm. People prefer to filter out discordant information. As such, I am frequently confronted with, "Where did you hear that...." Well, here you go. If you want an email version, send me an email.

Obama's role models: Chavez, Hitler, Putin, Bloomberg

Irene just sent me a link. I thought I had seen a bottoming out of the leftist assault on our nation, but there is now a bill before Congress to repeal the 22d Amendment. That is, term limits, which were put into place because of FDR's Reich had been so brutal.

They do have to move fast and take advantage of the current chaos they fomented.

So, while the poor masses smile their little contented smiles and shove aside the nay-sayers, say, lets kill talk radio, the the great leader, just after 100 days and over 10 trillion dollars, is already planing his third and fourth terms. At least, there is some recognition of the constitution.

Oh, I forgot, yesterday was the medical "reform" which the government costs at $1,500,000,000 which in realistic dollars, judging from Medicare's projections, some 20 trillion. OF course, most doctors don't care who pays them.
You may recall the recent debate that term limits on Congress was a good idea because of all the inbreeding and theft, nooooo. Put that idea side. Term limits get in the way of dictators. Here are some, please note the condition of countries involved:
Chavez: Hugo Chávez's ambition to lead Venezuela for decades to come hung in the balance last night as the country voted in a constitutional referendum that could abolish presidential term limits, paving the way for his indefinite re-election.

Opinion polls gave him a slight edge after a controversial campaign that pitted student protesters against police and turned the state into a "red machine" to deliver a yes vote.

HITLER: After Hitler gained power because others figured he would just flop and they could not come up with a coalition, he pushed through the legislature a bill for an unlimited term. He did away with his opposition, soon thereafter.

PUTIN: Mr Putin became prime minister this year after being obliged under the constitution to step down after two consecutive presidential terms. He was succeeded as president by Mr Medvedev. Anaylsts say it has always been assumed that Mr Putin may return after Mr Medvedev has completed one term. But the apparent rush to get this constitutional amendment through is being seen by some as a sign that Mr Putin is in a hurry and may return much sooner.

Bllomberg: ...after a spirited, emotional and at times raucous debate, the New York City Council voted, 29 to 22, on Thursday afternoon to extend term limits, allowing Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg [Gene - and the council itself!] to seek re-election next year and undoing the result of two voter referendums that had imposed a limit of two four-year terms.
So, it continues. The left wants to pack the Court and enthrone its mouthpiece before the people realize they are broke and unable to return to economic and social freedom. All we can hope for is the crash comes sooner than later. Do what you can to spark inflation.

Don't bother to tell me I got it all wrong; that all of history doesn't apply. Just remember those words when you explain to your grandchildren what you didn't do. We can kiss NYC and the state goodbye once the legislature awarded itself unlimited terms. I guess I just need to forget about registering surprise at the silence of the sheeple and plan an exit. That makes good investment sense.

Below is Resolution 5: Mr. HOYER (for himself, Mr. BERMAN, Mr. SENSENBRENNER, Mr. SABO, and Mr. PALLONE) introduced the following joint resolution; which was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary

Here is another determinative issue for determining who to vote for. Those in favor are the enemy. Period.
