Two bits
Two observations:
1. Next year, according to the budget now under consideration, there will be NO Charitable deduction.
You may be ovlerwhelmed by all the minutiae that has long been part of the Marxist game plan. You may not understand that economic terrorists are just like real ones - they take their best shot to blow things up, even where they will self destruct. We don't understand the zealot.
Since confusion is the norm, let me give a heads up on this charity thing. No, the end of the charitable deduction is not a reluctant act to increase resources because Democrats have to repair the country. Get real.
The need to attack charity goes back to Marx. You see, Big Brother takes care of his flock and doesn't like the idea of a charity offering another option to the needy.
If Big Brother cannot outlaw certain ideas, it can, at least, starve them, like those annoying Ukrainians it removed without all the bother that Hilter went through.
Further, charity connotes community and offers hope. This is NOT how to spread class warefare, anger, and ignorance.
Marx and Engels rejected the peaceful Socialist approach to change and its foundation in Judeao-Christian Charity.
I spent some time looking into charity in Sweden. just now, as I recall from years ago, it was illegal there to give to charity. I think that is no longer the case there. If I have this all correct, the pendulum, there, is returning from fantasy land. There may have been a retrenchment since college graduates were just leaving the country in search of freedom.
In the quest to kill of gifts to, say, the Catholic Church, you may think Mr. Obama has also killed off gifts to such things as NPR and Planned Parenthood. There you go agin, you are using logic.
You have to stop that in the era of insanity. The STATE will fund important, socially important things like NPR and Planned Parenhood, which, as we all know, I hope, was created for the purpose of helping blacks kill their prospective slum children. It was just survival of the fittest, after all.
As the Marxist go for broke, they are taking the nation with them. Best for all of us to cut as many links to the government as possible. A drowing man can pull down his saviour.

2. This is from the LA TIMES, Sunday. Just an excerpt of interest regarding "health reform" or, as Mr Obama just put it "health insurance reform," which somehow seems to be just hugely different:
...didn't sound like a man in a hurry. "We should be very deliberate, take our time," Obama said, and he acknowledged that Congress might not pass a bill at all this year.
It was an underwhelming call to arms from the man whose job is to lead the charge, and liberals in Congress weren't pleased.
"Why don't you ask him?" Pelosi said tartly when a reporter asked her what Obama's healthcare strategy was....The LA Times will also get government aid.
