We head into the Fourth of July weekend with a government that scorns the Constitution, with a populace only becoming reacquainted with it, having been subjected to public schools, with our ignored troops in ignored conflicts, with a new Supreme Court justice in the wings who will not admit any limits to the 10th Amendment, with Black Panthers (different from earlier murderers) granted amnesty regarding the intimidation of voters, with representatives who assault and mock citizens, with a park 80 miles from the Mexican border closed to citizens for their protection from "immigrants," and with a media that is, at least, 3-l liberal and not capable of removing their filters to see anything wrong.
Without a real media, there is no stopping fascism. Fascists know this and have been co-opting our "free" press and other media, as McCarthy pointed out, for generations.
The economy is disintegrating, so Obama, who now admits this, though he doesn't care, and announces he wants to spend more and increase central power to assuage your fear. He meets his political failure by attempting to offer an edict to find a new ten plus million citizens who can't speak English, so they won't know he is Chavez.
, The market seems to have run out of buyers. Recently, on days when the market goes up, the volume is light. On days when the market goes down, volume soars with passionate intensity. |
Business is touted as rebounding by the blind and dumb because they show the profits being booked this year before taxes are confiscatory.
Shadowstats.com puts the unemployment rate at 22% while the president proudly says it is below 10% and no one contradicts this obvious insanity. Imagine if Bush had actually lied.
I was conscious in the Carter days, the days of the amateurs and marshmallows. I was around in the oil embargo of the 1970's, back when we had a salvo of warning shots across the bow regarding oil dependency and ignored them when the Arabs dropped the oil price because we were catching on. Those are the good old days. Today's geniuses figure we should all freeze, because using fuel is bad.
Now, I witness money leaving the nation.
I sit around wondering how to, first, not be around New York State, then, where to go to be free of the drowning pool. Like Cassandra when I raise warnings, those who do not already see what is happening pay no attention. You wonder if there is any point to pointing things out. Perhaps, social Darwanism is about to cure our problems and the unfit will follow their cooking grills to the dump.
The flight problem is already in hardcover and we worry about our cookout this weekend. In the meantime, the long-organized elitist discuss how the world's population should be reduced to under one billion. No one asks what that means. |
Asian cultures are very old and they have seen the ebb and flow of empires and cultures. They are passive about such things, all very Buddhist. There are those of us in America who thought we had beaten the system of avarice and the thirst for power that results in some variant of an oligarchy. We invoke the Federalist Papers as a source of wisdom only to have college professors ask, "What?"
It looks like the eternal vigilance required to protect us from human ignorance and greed has been put down. The enemy got smart and attacked our culture from within, knowing no external violence would not work. We fell quickly, as the KGB forecast. Mock religion, the Constitution, and family life. Simple. Most people get their news from stand up comics sitting down behind desks and wearing jackets and ties.
I have taken to helping Chris Gibson run for Congress and he will likely win, but what does one honorable man do? He knows what is right, but he has not fully seen the extent of enemy. He has been too busy defending the enemy.
Even if there is a Novermber revolt and old oligarchs are shown the door, it seems too late. The Supreme Court is on the edge of a majority of those who will say the 10th Amendment will sanction any government action. The people don't know what that means, but will say I am crazy for worrying. However, they have extra steak for the weekend.
If there is a true uprising and the medical insurance bill is repealed, we are still stuck with a few years of costs and an overwhelming deconstruction, but do you really think this new Congress would actually act? Large gimme programs are never repealed. The Supreme Court tossed out FDR's crap, but will this one have a majority of the enlightened lawyers who like a "flexible" Constitution. The people have lost and they still do not understand the rules of the game. They invited the pusher in and willing become the addicts.
The outcome of all this is very simple. Either we have enough traditionalist Americans who remain and who will respond with force and secession or we don't, and we will become the next France, Spain, England joining the receding history.
Watching fireworks this weekend seems an insult to those who came before us, who build a great nation upon new dreams, who died to preserve a nation that has become populated by cowards and cows. Town events are no more than a place to buy bread and watch a circus. We are passive, there is no community celebration.
Indeed, that is the end - no community celebration just hollow men, heads stuffed with straw.
The Hollow Men
Mistah Kurtz—he dead.
A penny for the Old Guy
We are the hollow men
We are the stuffed men
Leaning together
Headpiece filled with straw. Alas!
Our dried voices, when
We whisper together
Are quiet and meaningless
As wind in dry grass
Or rats’ feet over broken glass
In our dry cellar
Shape without form, shade without colour,
Paralysed force, gesture without motion;
Those who have crossed
With direct eyes, to death’s other Kingdom
Remember us—if at all—not as lost
Violent souls, but only
As the hollow men
The stuffed men.
II
Eyes I dare not meet in dreams
In death’s dream kingdom
These do not appear:
There, the eyes are
Sunlight on a broken column
There, is a tree swinging
And voices are
In the wind’s singing
More distant and more solemn
Than a fading star.
Let me be no nearer
In death’s dream kingdom
Let me also wear
Such deliberate disguises
Rat’s coat, crowskin, crossed staves
In a field
Behaving as the wind behaves
No nearer—
Not that final meeting
In the twilight kingdom
III
This is the dead land
This is cactus land
Here the stone images
Are raised, here they receive
The supplication of a dead man’s hand
Under the twinkle of a fading star.
Is it like this
In death’s other kingdom
Waking alone
At the hour when we are
Trembling with tenderness
Lips that would kiss
Form prayers to broken stone.
IV
The eyes are not here
There are no eyes here
In this valley of dying stars
In this hollow valley
This broken jaw of our lost kingdoms
In this last of meeting places
We grope together
And avoid speech
Gathered on this beach of the tumid river
Sightless, unless
The eyes reappear
As the perpetual star
Multifoliate rose
Of death’s twilight kingdom
The hope only
Of empty men.
V
Here we go round the prickly pear
Prickly pear prickly pear
Here we go round the prickly pear
At five o’clock in the morning.
Between the idea
And the reality
Between the motion
And the act
Falls the Shadow
For Thine is the Kingdom
Between the conception
And the creation
Between the emotion
And the response
Falls the Shadow
Life is very long
Between the desire
And the spasm
Between the potency
And the existence
Between the essence
And the descent
Falls the Shadow
For Thine is the Kingdom
For Thine is
Life is
For Thine is the
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
Not with a bang but a whimper.
