Grokking
A major problem confronting us is how to grasp the economic stew we are sitting in. For example, we are arguing about some thirty billion dollars in cuts - or the government will shut down, but the interest on our debt is 4 BILLION A DAY. The debate is a fraudulent distraction aimed as pandering to those who don't understand what is being talked about. Their only area of interest is whether they get their check. Appealing to greed works in a socialist state, contrary to what you may think.
The scale of these numbers is staggering. This is espeically true of the "trillion" word.
We should require the press to use numbers:
million: 1,000,000
billion: 1,000.000.000
trillion: 1,000,000,000,000
Number of taxpayers, roughly, with some liability: 100,000,000
--------
The CBO (a favorite soure of Mr. Obama) says: Social Security is drained in 2037
---------
Best way to understand what we are up to these days is from Rep Ryan as found in Wall Street Journal. If we don't get this, we don't deserve to survive. It is survival of fittest. Morons die.
Now, those in charge in helping the U.S. are not morons, so what does that make them? Think about this. The only answer is we are on an intended course. This is not conjecture, but most people can't believe it is true. Perhaps, a simple graph will do the trick and people will understand.
