Gene's Footnotes

I have never been impressed by the messenger and always inspect the message, which I now understand is not the norm. People prefer to filter out discordant information. As such, I am frequently confronted with, "Where did you hear that...." Well, here you go. If you want an email version, send me an email.

Exit Sign

Germany's central bank – the Bundesbank – recently announced it would bring back within its borders 300 of 1,500 tonnes of gold it currently stores with the Federal Reserve (and all of the 374 tonnes of gold it stores in France).

Why?

Germany no longer trusts the biggest debtor in history to hold its wealth.

So, do you?

History shows governments and banks use their power to merely take assets to pay off debts (to those who run the country, so forget rejecting the debt). Retirement funds, gold, and anything else available is on the checklist. As long as chaos does not erupt, the theft of your assets will stealthy.  For example, paid any government fees in the past few months?

Commercial for Constitution

I know I announced I was changing my ways in this blog, and I will, but a message from our sponsor is in order.

Assemblyman Steve McLaughlin (clearly a maniacal "R") recently released information that was part of the Cuomo gun legislation the day before passage.  If it means nothing to you, go back and read about cognitive dissonance. Also, consider how our government can create such a complex web of regulations and laws in a few days.

Items not added to the bill:

The full list of proposals can be read below:
1. Confiscation of "assault weapons"
2. Confiscation of ten round clips
3. Statewide database for ALL Guns
4. Continue to allow pistol permit holder's information to be replaced to the public
5. Label semiautomatic shotguns with more than 5 rounds or pistol grips as "assault weapons”
6. Limit the number of rounds in a magazine to 5 and confiscation and forfeiture of banned magazines
7. Limit possession to no more than two (2) magazines
8. Limit purchase of guns to one gun per person per month
9. Require re-licensing of all pistol permit owners
10. Require renewal of all pistol permits every five years
11. State issued pistol permits
12. Micro-stamping of all guns in New York State
13. Require licensing of all gun ammo dealers
14. Mandatory locking of guns at home
15. Fee for licensing, registering weapons
Sure, you have the right to bear arms as long as they are what we permit, cannot be loaded, cannot be out of your house, cannot be unregistered with Big Bro, and so on. It is like you have the right to drive, but not on a road.
Of note, Canada tried to have a national registry of guns and after a billion or so of dollars, they withdrew the plan as stupid. They can agree to that as the people are not arming themselves against Ottawa. I remember when we were a nation of the people.

The left is using fear, ostensibly fear they did not create, think Chrystal Night, and is following the exact disarmament route of the Turks (1.2 million Armenians killed); Hitler (6 million); Stalin (of 4 million).  Americans would not do that, right?  Go read about how many Americans would have to be eradicated once the left took control. This was discussed at the last overt meeting of the Weather Underground led by Bill Ayers, Mr. Obama's mentor in Chicago.
As to the recent shooting, have you seen an autopsy and listing of types of bullets used, the incredible accuracy of a nut kid, or a report on the man in fatigues and body armor arrested in the forest next to the school?  The initial reports stated the not-really "assault" rifle was not brought in the school.
After the cover up of the JFK assassination, I prefer a lack of knowledge to blatant lies. I advise not only skepticism, but active suspicion when dealing with our government, both parties included.
