Gene's Footnotes

I have never been impressed by the messenger and always inspect the message, which I now understand is not the norm. People prefer to filter out discordant information. As such, I am frequently confronted with, "Where did you hear that...." Well, here you go. If you want an email version, send me an email.

End of Another Global Fraud: IPCC in turmoil

As the Financial Post, a real paper from Canada, put it: here is all you need to know about global warming:

Oops.

The nice colors are the models the IPCC and, hence, the true believers used to "settle" the question of global warming. The mean black lines are data, the deniers.

Flash back years: I explained all this and predicted, like a bad radio host, that real scientists will jump the PC ship one they start to look stupid. This is happening at the IPCC. The scientists at IPCC are at odds with the political drones who will publish data, then add a preface, one disconnected from reality, about how the world is ending.

There are many fraudulent careers at stake in an era when stupid people may have to work in the "private sector," as they call normal life.

One addition:  I glibly talked about solar activity as the thing to watch (and the models ignored). This is sort of a good plan, but the key is that water vapor the sun generates is the greenhouse gas that affects temperature.

I am in the process of organizing a NFP to cover the oceans with floating concrete.  Sounds reasonable.  Maybe, we coat it with a floating, while oil or something or kill animals that breath.

From Behndtheblack.com:

Another leak from the IPCC shows that politicians in Belgium, Hungary, Germany, and the United States attempted to pressure the scientists writing the report to cover up the lack in global temperature rise since 1998.
[L]eaked documents seen by the Associated Press, yesterday revealed deep concerns among politicians about a lack of global warming over the past few years. Germany called for the references to the slowdown in warming to be deleted, saying looking at a time span of just 10 or 15 years was ‘misleading’ and they should focus on decades or centuries. Hungary worried the report would provide ammunition for deniers of man-made climate change. Belgium objected to using 1998 as a starting year for statistics, as it was exceptionally warm and makes the graph look flat – and suggested using 1999 or 2000 instead to give a more upward-pointing curve. The United States delegation even weighed in, urging the authors of the report to explain away the lack of warming using the ‘leading hypothesis’ among scientists that the lower warming is down to more heat being absorbed by the ocean – which has got hotter.
Two points: First, for this article to refer to any legitimate scientist who questions the theory of human-caused global warming to be called a “denier” offends me beyond words, as regular readers of this website know.
Second, this leak proves once again the foolishness of allowing politicians to get involved in the scientific process. They should be kept as far away as possible, at all times.
Zimmerman see the current leaks as intentional. The lowly, worker bee scientists have had enough.

Post American History

Welcome to Obamacare: the unintended consequences.

Why Work:

I do like Kentucky.

What is hard to grok is Illinois. Its free money is only $13,580 per capita!

Then again, Kauai looks pretty good until the end, probably after my life:   $60,590.

In a window in town, Glens Falls, there is a display and the book open, pretending the imaginary window people read, is called:  Why Democracies Fail.  Read on Line

Without the strictures of a republic, oh, say a constitution, people will find out they can vote themselves money,  Ta Da: socialism - the tool of the oligarchy used to get state control via the little piggy theory (they are big piggies, so have an education, albeit immoral.)

Perhaps, a reader may think the U.S. is a republic. Welcome to the 20th Century where the progressives, Marxists, etc. had destroyed the republic. Time to study up: why the direct election of Senators was a mistake; why the income tax was a mistake; why there is an effort to control guns and speech; why we have a freedom from religion, not of religion. Etc Etc.  All that is necessary is people awake and vote out almost everyone, both parties. A good depression will help get us there.

I no longer see there is any stopping the piggy express. The tangled web cannot be undone; eventually, it will be destroyed, how is unknown, but you can't convince piggies to be more than they are.

A powerful depression might help; we will see. One can hope, I suppose. The cool thing is much of the world has learned from us and our past derailment of piggy history is not lost on other cultures.

Our founders were colonists to the English - it was the colonists who reminded England of the rights of individuals that they had lost to the crown, after centuries of fighting to gain them. One speech in Parliament, back then, praised the U.S. for upholding the liberal rights of the individual that used to be England.

Time for an I-Monastery.

Revisit Global Bla Bla: Religion Rejecting Science

Daily Caller News Foundation

MIT professor: global warming is a ‘religion’

Throughout history, governments have twisted science to suit a political agenda. Global warming is no different, according to Dr. Richard Lindzen of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
“Global climate alarmism has been costly to society, and it has the potential to be vastly more costly. It has also been damaging to science, as scientists adjust both data and even theory to accommodate politically correct positions,” writes Lindzen in the fall 2013 issue of the Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons.
According to Lindzen, scientists make essentially “meaningless” claims about certain phenomenon. Activists for certain causes take up claims made by scientists and politicians respond to the alarmism spread by activists by doling out more research funding. — creating an “Iron Triangle” of poor incentives.
“How can one escape from the Iron Triangle when it produces flawed science that is immensely influential and is forcing catastrophic public policy?” Lindzen asks.
Lindzen compares global warming to past politicized scientific movements: the eugenics movement in the early 20th Century and Lysenkoism in the Soviet Union under Stalin. However, the MIT professor argues that global warming goes even beyond what these past movements in terms of twisting science.
“Global Warming has become a religion,” writes Lindzen. “A surprisingly large number of people seem to have concluded that all that gives meaning to their lives is the belief that they are saving the planet by paying attention to their carbon footprint.”
“There may be a growing realization that this may not add all that much meaning to one’s life, but, outside the pages of the Wall Street Journal, this has not been widely promulgated, and people with no other source of meaning will defend their religion with jihadist zeal,” he added.
President Obama announced his plan to tackle global warming this summer.
“I refuse to condemn your generation and future generations to a planet that’s beyond fixing,” Obama said. “And that’s why, today, I’m announcing a new national climate action plan, and I’m here to enlist your generation’s help in keeping the United States of America a leader — a global leader — in the fight against climate change.”
A recently leaked report by the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change claims there is a 95 percent chance that human activity — mostly from burning fossil fuels — is the main cause of global warming.
However, there has been no rise in global temperatures for the past 15 years.

Since people measure facts by who reports them, here is Lindzen:

Happy Labor Day, if you have a job

I have a backlog of blogs; seems my super duper small browser has a few shortcomings.  Still like it though (Sunrise.)  Incredibly small and fast. Or, I may be technically inept.  You decide.

I think one one piece went out earlier today.  Consider that lucky. I am wandering around since Friday, really, as my office building was closed with a "POISON" sign on the door. I actually obeyed the do not enter advice. Lucky for you, I have my Mac.

Even with that cornucopia of blogs, I should republish Peter Schiff's outlook asap. Schiff is a money man who ran for Senate in Connecticut. Look him up, if you are not sure who he is. He is one of the guys who sees clearly. He lost the Senate race, not being a commie or wrestler.  Had Paul and Schiff won, we would be in trouble, now, but have a way out.  Now, well read the article.

Thus, it is time to panic. There is no longer breathing room.  Protect yourself now. You know what you need to do and get out of MOST stocks. Second, next week is primary week in my part of the world. If you are registered in a party, GO and VOTE.  The primaries are the only elections that matter. Vote NO to Marx, idiots, party hacks, career politicians, people who assume victory. You may want to study up on anyone names Al Kabong.

Schiff: We're Heading For A Crisis
Worse Than 2007

Washington is engaged in a massive "campaign" to make Americans believe the economy is in recovery.  But in reality the United States is at the brink of a devastating economic crash that will cause catastrophic market losses and impoverish millions.
That's according to Peter Schiff, the best-selling author and CEO of Euro Pacific Capital, who delivered his frightening warning to investors in a recent interview on CCTV.
"The problem with politicians is they don't want to level with the voters and tell them how bad the economy really is and what the cure for the disease is," Schiff said.
The "disease" Schiff refers to is a toxic combination of our massive $16.4 trillion debt and the Fed's continued devaluing of the dollar through its controversial 7-year long "easing" program.
The Fed is currently purchasing $85 billion a month in Treasury and mortgage bonds, a form of stimulus.
President Obama and like-minded politicians claim this stimulus has pushed the economy forward, boosting GDP and keeping inflation low.
But Schiff says "it's another lie."
In fact, according to Schiff, the government has done nothing more than create a "phony" economy that is "completely dependent on the ability to borrow more money that we can't pay back."
"The Fed knows that the U.S. economy is not recovering," Schiff said. "It simply is being kept from collapse by artificially low interest rates and quantitative easing. As that support goes, the economy will implode."
"The crisis is imminent," Schiff said. "I don't think Obama is going to finish his second term without the bottom dropping out. And stock market investors are oblivious to the problems."
Editor's Note: As a service to our readers, we've arranged a way for you to get a copy of Peter Schiff's new best-selling book, The Real CrashHow To Save Yourself And Your Country, for free, including shipping. The book shows in plain language exactly what economic dangers ordinary Americans face right now and how you can protect yourself. Please go here for your free copy.
