Gene's Footnotes

I have never been impressed by the messenger and always inspect the message, which I now understand is not the norm. People prefer to filter out discordant information. As such, I am frequently confronted with, "Where did you hear that...." Well, here you go. If you want an email version, send me an email.

Meanwhile, Life Continues In the Real World

From Ken Burman

After every flight,
UPS pilots fill out a form, called a'gripe sheet,' which tells mechanics about problems with the aircraft.

The mechanics correct the problems, document their repairs on the form, and then pilots review the gripe sheets before the next flight.

By the way, UPS is the only major airline that has never, ever, had an accident....

Pilot Gripe: Left inside main tire almost needs replacement.

Solution: Almost replaced left inside main tire.

Cartoon For Low Information Americans

Thanks to Ken Burman:

As Ken's one work email said: "Perfect."  Make it a signature on your private emails.

American number problems go away by changing definitions. If we didn't do that, imagine how our price index would go up!
