Gene's Footnotes

I have never been impressed by the messenger and always inspect the message, which I now understand is not the norm. People prefer to filter out discordant information. As such, I am frequently confronted with, "Where did you hear that...." Well, here you go. If you want an email version, send me an email.

Real Time Demonstration Project: Vermont as a Mental Institution

I remain, for now, a Vermont citizen. This hasn't been easy, as I moved around often.

In a few years, I have seen the state degenerate from the famous bastion of self reliance, self government, local schools, strong family and community, and distaste for flat-landers to a hide-out for the marginally aware, lazy, sycophants.

One can look at the University of Vermont which abandoned its high status, as low-life academics infected the place, and is now a tree-hugger camp for drones from New Jersey and NYC. The sad thing is these academics actually think they are superior intellects, not having ever competed in the community.

So you Vermonters understand, you paid for an academic, Marxist/touchy-feelie/whatever-the-hell-they-are, band of subversives who used your tax money to take control of the state. They have succeeded, chump. Got taxes? They buy votes by giving away shinny pennies, thereby driving out the business community.

The take over is the same old Marxist story: control the schools, centralize the schools and government, raise taxes, create a dependency, and enhance leftist voters - the "social contract" was part of that and the gay community tends to support Marxists for some reason. There is no interest in fair debate; rather all subversion is is acceptable to "play the system" and subvert is from within. Essentially, the operative concept is hustle the marks who live by those old-fashioned rules and assume honor in others.

This is childish, self indulgent behavior that in adults is a mental illness. It promotes not contribution, but exploitation. These people are never happy, always pushing others for more. This was exact opposite of Vermont just thirty years ago. These are the people our forefathers fled in old Europe.
---
So, this morning, I was listening to VPR, Vermont People's Radio. The station was on because I turned on the BBC late at night (it sounds conservative, now).  However, this morning the Vermont insipid news was on.

I stopped what I was doing and listened to a report:

Vermont has released results of... bla bla, same drone stuff...that Vermont's homeless increased 25% in ONE YEAR!

I was amazed; I was amazed VPR would report such news. I listened as this report might indicate to normal people that Vermont was in dire trouble. I forgot about about the mental illness of the left. Snap!

No, the point of the study was to promote more housing subsidies!

Just another made up crisis designed to justify theft of citizen's money. It did't matter, of course, that Vermont is now broke because of the vast ocean of people who refuse to work.  It, now, leads the country in drug addiction! This means we need to offer free drugs in addition to the free hypodermic needles.  This is the non-logic that we should not permit to exist just because we want to be nice to nitwits.

Yesterday, in this blog, we saw "democracies" die in about 200 years because people devolve into apathy. Dull witted, self-indulgent people will vote themselves money from the distant "government" and there are always leaders willing to control money gateway. After all, they have to help the children, don't they? One mistake is the, now, state sponsored abortion. This may sound like fun, but the left is reducing the number of future tax payers.  They will be like Shakers and not reproduce themselves, either.

As very few natural-born Vermonters remain, the state is now an excellent test tube to measure the destruction of a people through better collectivism. The drifters stay in Vermont even in sub-zero weather as the state keeps them warm. The state, in a real sense, being the children of the drifters who will pay for the theft. This is Vermont today. We need a new string of songs about the People's Vermont.

The tricks of the trade of oligarchs are the same in Vermont as Venezuela and too numerous to mention, here.

The very rich are now moving in and have manipulated the law and their lives to avoid the taxes that fall upon the middle class.  Same old story.

To understand where we are going in the U.S. one needs to understand the true meaning of the VPR news report:  the avoidance of logic, without hesitation, regarding certain matters. Where the emotional/religious principles can be raised, no matter how stupid, they are raised and defended. Logic is for long-dead or long-fled white farmers.

The problem with apathetic people is they let the least-common denominator of society talk and talk and talk and take control of our lives. We do not want to be confrontational or impolite; this is a simple human tendency. Mentally healthy people do not plan their lives around being installed in an office. Power seeking is an indicator of mental illness.

We have work to do. We are quiet and politically correct.  We are trained to let deviants prance about; in turn, they actually think they are sane and deserve to lead. They bury wood so the carbon will not be released, or something like that. If it weren't for those damn trees, there would be no carbon. Oh, I forgot about the damn dinosaurs who died and left carbon laying around.

Look at the imbeciles that represent Vermont in Congress. They look up to Joe Biden for intellectual clarity.  To his credit, the perpetually miserable Bernie Sanders admits he is a Brooklyn Marxist.  He was raised to power serving as the socialist mayor of Burlington (aka University of Vermont.) The rest of the crowd are "liberals" and "progressives." They are all collectivists in the various shade of Marxism. They want to be in charge of the "masses," which, of course, does not describe them.

This has to stop. We have to reject stupidity, personal attacks, and emotional whining. Put the leftists into therapy, not in public office. Ultimately, the reason we are collapsing as a culture is a loss of a moral foundation. The apathetic have no opinion about morality and freedom.

Where one solidly believes in a morality and a higher standard to follow, then one is not engaged with petty theft and manipulation.  Where one has nothing meaningful in life, then control and theft become the goals of life.  Humans seem to need a "meaning." Where we create an animal society, our drives become those of animals, but this is unkind to animals who do not benefit from the ability to apply the mind to animal desires.

The leftists mock all religion for this reason - it is their one true enemy.  It is the reason it took so long for Marxist thought to infect the U.S. The KGB has been clear about this. First, the subversives had to kill off logical morality. They mock the family, priests, the Bible, and individual responsibility. All normal aspects of building a solid community are an interference to state control.

My advice, again, is register to vote and do so in the PRIMARIES.  Here is where your vote counts. When you get in the booth, unless someone screams about the law and profligate spending, vote against all incumbants.  If both major candidates are statist, then vote against the incumbent. Parties are nearly irrelevant. Do that every election. Its a first step.  If this makes sense to you, then you run.  You are qualified.

More can be done, but this is simple and effective step. If we do not do this, now, the next steps will not be simple and will be fraught with danger.

I like the idea of voting clubs. People should meet like they would in a stock buying club, discuss politics, and make investments in their future.

Defend the Republic

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over lousy fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average of the world's great civilizations before they decline has been 200 years. These nations have progressed in this sequence:
From bondage to spiritual faith;
faith to great courage; from courage to liberty;
from liberty to abundance;
from abundance to selfishness;
from selfishness to Complacency;
from complacency to apathy;
from apathy to dependency;
from dependency back again to bondage.

-Alexander Tyler

In a true republic, the simple majority does not overwhelm law and minorities. Only under the mob rule of democracy does the majority destroy its competitors. (Federalist Papers No 10)

This is why the Senate was not formed from a popular vote. This is why there was a severe structure to preserve individual civil rights and due process.  There was a defined flow of business in Congress.

All this is gone.

Next, the subversives will take out the electoral college.

If nothing improves, we disappear from history.

It does appear that the Obamacare tornado has awakend the average person from apathy.

Interesting Re Debt

Our primary purpose was to spread information about the workings of this secondary debt market,' said Andrew Ross. Photograph: Spencer Platt/Getty Images
A group of Occupy Wall Street activists has bought almost $15m of Americans' personal debt over the last year as part of the Rolling Jubilee project to help people pay off their outstanding credit.
Rolling Jubilee, set up by Occupy's Strike Debt group following the street protests that swept the world in 2011, launched on 15 November 2012. The group purchases personal debt cheaply from banks before "abolishing" it, freeing individuals from their bills.
By purchasing the debt at knockdown prices the group has managed to free $14,734,569.87 of personal debt, mainly medical debt, spending only $400,000.
"We thought that the ratio would be about 20 to 1," said Andrew Ross, a member of Strike Debt and professor of social and cultural analysis at New York University. He said the team initially envisaged raising $50,000, which would have enabled it to buy $1m in debt.
"In fact we've been able to buy debt a lot more cheaply than that."...

The above is from a current Guardian news report.

s to know they can stop paying and get off easily.
The debt looks like it is charged off, as those kinds of numbers indicated the debt was sold, and the borrower's credit dinged. What they are doing does not look useful, at all, unless the debt is bought directly from the bank.  If one can buy one's own debt for pennies on the dollar that may help, but banks don't do that.  Logically, I suppose, they do not want debtor
The focus on debt is a good thing.

FIrst in a Series on the New Politics: Science

RE:  Ken Haapala, Executive Vice President, Science and Environmental Policy Project (SEPP)

EPA Listening? At the EPA headquarters on Nov 7, EPA held one of its listening events on the need for rules to regulate carbon dioxide emissions at existing coal-fired power plants and other major emitters of CO2. The EPA web site, hand-outs, etc.; frequently used the term Carbon Pollution in discussing the event. No doubt, EPA will use these events to claim that the public demands regulation of existing plants.
Though he recognized that nothing he could say would change matters, Ken  (KAH) represented SEPP. He greeted those assembled as carbon-based life-forms and asked is life a pollutant? He asserted that human breathing increases carbon dioxide concentration of the air used by 100 times and asked does your breathing endanger human health? By this time, many in the audience were sitting up, listening; not necessarily with pleasure.
KAH reviewed the 3 major lines of evidence the EPA used for its endangerment finding: 1) a human fingerprint (hot spot), which does not exist; 2) recent unprecedented and dangerous warming, which stopped 16 years ago and was not unprecedented; 3) climate models are reliable, all of which failed to predict warming would stop and greatly overestimate warming. EPA is basing its policy on failing science and climate models that are wrong.
Then, he reviewed the Federal funding since 1993 and asked what has $165 Billion bought us? Some very good instruments to measure climate change, particularly from satellites. But, these are largely ignored. Much has been spent on failing science, failing climate models, and extreme exaggerations of the human influence on climate.
Why this failure? Because government-funded climate science tries to blame humanity for naturally occurring climate change. Based on its failing science, EPA is issuing economically destructive regulations on power plants
It is past time for the EPA to study the principles of empirical science and of model testing. Its credibility is at stake. In addition, the EPA should study the tremendous benefits to humanity and the environment from enhanced atmospheric carbon dioxide.
The comments were submitted to the EPA panel including references to the following documents, with links: Climate Change Reconsidered II, Physical Science; NIPCC’s Summary for Policymakers, Physical Science; and The Positive Externalities of Carbon Dioxide.
Upon conclusion of the comments, a view of the audience revealed many nervous smiles. It is great to see smiling faces at EPA headquarters on a dreary fall morning.
Haapala is one of those guys who goes to meetings; curiously, he does not seem to be a Marxist tool.  His background here.   Still, he he was just using logic so you would think the  government could follow it; however, the EPA is not interested in what it has already decided as a path for state control of the masses by manipulating their stupidity (we are past ignorance.)
Had a hard time finding fun graphics, here, as they were silly propaganda by all sides. Simpleton stuff.  So here is an image used by a school teacher. It is vaguely related, but that is good by today's journalism.

I suppose the cartoon is not harmless as students leave with their mushy brains filled with mushy opinions and those "feelings" become part of the no information voter.

Khruschchev

Last week my computer exercised its own discretion and blocked the publication of certain material.  It was not censorship in the classical sense. I was going to add a quote and photo of Khrushchev, but they were rejected!

The quote rings true as to the KGB's efforts and was ominous in its description of how socialism would be (and has been) incrementally put upon us. However, researchers, apparently, have not been able to verify the validity of the quote. (But, this may be spin too.)

The quote was pure Frankfurt School/Columbia University/Cloward-Piven subversive leftist stuff.  It was likely a fraud and is used in the same way The Protocols of Zion are still used by true believers in order to champion their personal version of reality.

The cover images, herewith, show Khrushchev was correct about the media being Russia's main tool, quote below. There are many more covers that were released upon us. The KGB was astounded how their propaganda was reprinted in the U.S. I am not astounded.

A Russian joke that is quite old now: America is the only place the communist party is legal.

I will not comment on the phallic symbols anymore than I just did. Perhaps, they are crude NLP spin or a stupid joke? This was the era subliminal advertising as a gimmick to sell marketing campaigns. There is truth to the system, of course, but most of the commercial encoding was weird and the Mad Men, along with academics, were the source of  governmental lying.

I stopped buying Time after high school. Not long after, I stopped buying US News and World Report. The main reason was the content dissolved into promoting movies and albums along with one page pap written by four "journalists." Time-Life was promoting its own crap and selling ads. More oligarchy pretending to be socialist. I was a kid in college who read The Economist.

I have not purchased a New York Times since it covered up the Clinton veto in the Security Council of a resolution to send a small force into Rwanda to stop the pending, documented genocide,  resulting in about 1,000,000 dead. As a British officer said at the time in Rwanda, a hand full of soldiers could have stopped the genocide.

The killers had a written plan that stated Clinton would do nothing because of the political fall out from Somalia. They were right.  If one can stop mass murder, but chooses to block all others from doing so, is he not a mass murder?  I do not need history to make a judgment.

The ever-sensitive Clinton, not long ago, agreed that was a mistake to not permit action in Rawanda. Ah, gee, isn't that nice? It is time we understand the communist world was correct is one thing, we have been colonialists who act upon the whim of the crown. This is true today. We are not a moral republic in any sense. Indeed, we now abandon our own colonial troops when politically timely. The "journalists" are not interesting in this story where a leftist is in charge of helping us reform.

Let me add a few quotes of Mr. K, starting with a favorite:

  • Politicians are the same all over. They promise to build a bridge even where there is no river.
  • Whether you like it or not, history is on our side. We will dig you in. (We will bury you.
  •  I once said, 'We will bury you,' and I got into trouble with it. Of course we will not bury you with a shovel. Your own working class will bury you.
  • Berlin is the testicle of the West. When I want the West to scream, I squeeze on Berlin.
  • The press is our chief ideological weapon.
  • Call it what you will, incentives are what get people to work harder.
  • If you live among dogs, keep a stick. After all, this is what a hound has teeth for-to bite when he feels like it!
  • The more bombers, the less room for doves of peace
I have an after thought.
When I was an engaged fan or our system, believing it to be a moral, Constitutional republic, albeit a Baby Huey, I resisted notions of American imperialism. This was especially true talking with Canadians (I lived in Ontario for years.)
Now, I can see with some objectivity what we have been doing for decades. It does not matter what we Americans have been led to believe. Good intentions are as useless as faith without good works. We need to see the truth in what Forest Gump said: stupid is as stupid does.We are a colonial power that works at the direction of large financial institution and certain large corporations. We spend our children's money to create enemies throughout the world.

Edward Snowden

The German magazine Der Spiegel published a statement Sunday from Edward Snowden that it translated from English to German. Snowden has provided the ACLU with the original English text:

"In a very short period, the world has learned that some intelligence services operate unaccountable and occasionally criminal dragnet surveillance programs. While the NSA and GCHQ appear to be the worst offenders, we must remember that mass surveillance is a global problem and needs global solutions. Such programs are not just a threat to privacy, but to free expression and open societies. We must not allow the existence of spying technology to determine political policy; we have a moral duty to ensure our law and values constrain surveillance programs and protect basic human rights.
"Society can only understand and control these problems through robust, open, and informed debate. In the beginning, a few governments, embarrassed by the revelation of their mass surveillance systems, engaged in an unprecedented campaign of persecution to suppress that debate by intimidating journalists and criminalizing truth-telling. At that time, the public had no ability to measure the benefit of these revelations, and deferred to the judgment of government regarding the wisdom of this decision, but today it is clear that this was a mistake, and such action does not serve the public interest. The fruits of the debate they sought to avoid are now being enjoyed in countries around the world, and the beneficiary of this new public knowledge is society.
"Individuals have a civic responsibility to fight the suppression of information regarding matters of critical public importance. Telling the truth is not a crime."

==
The above piece is found on the ACLU page. These days, their mission is relatively tolerable. They do not like a police state.  Here is another article that warns of local police:
Capability is Driving Policy, Not Just at the NSA But Also in Police Departments
The local police are tied into Homeland Security which is buying them war-fighing equipment, communications capability, all those cameras in your face. You local police department, with a high proportion of people who were not college material, is now part of the HS network. Talk to a local officer about the nature of our republic; then, talk about the importance of following orders.

This is stuff that would have made Stalin very happy.  If the switch is thrown, we are a massive internment camp.

----------------
In recent news the Obama cabal said that with respect to Mr. Snowden there will be no  forgiveness. They meant by them.  So what?  Who wants to be in the good graces of tyrants other than victims who have abandoned hope?
I do not look at mass media in the U.S. so I was wondering, has this release been covered?  I am sure it will be by the world press.
The awareness level of the world, not so much in the U.S., has been increasing rapidly, probably thanks to the Internet. The lone voices warning us of secrecy and tyranny had been marginalized. Snowden may be the catalyst for a movement toward individual liberty. He is a very bright insider who had a moral and Constitutional sense of honor. His world-wide whistle blowing is far more effective than slobs camping out in a park  whining about "1 percenters" which, apparently, give license to rape.
In many ways, they are correct in their emotional state of mind, but you cannot rationally ally yourself with rabble. Also, you could not keep up with them as the crew in NY, at least, were pretty darn close to being from 1%er families.

Still: No Global Warming.

As you likely recall, there is a common acceptance that we are entering a little ice age as the solar activity is abnormally low.  Of course, this acceptance does not settle science as the U.N. says it has a vote of scientists who said it is settled: we are warming, er, changing. Ignore the man behind the curtain, Dr. Mintzer denies he agreed with the U.N. though they claimed his as a true believer. So, he doesn't exist.

If you don't have time to listen to NPR talk about warming/change for hours during unrelated shows, take five seconds, here:

WoodForTrees.org – Paul Clark –

oops

The warming spike of 1998 was averaged out by 2001. If one had free money from the government, one could look into the impact of eruptions in 1997: Monsterrat (goodbye condo), two in Japan (one in 1996), one is Alaska, for starts. The sea eruptions are significant.  Anyway, since then, absolutely not warming. The trends seem to have a greater lifetime.

There are those who will argue the trend from 1997 is not a valid predictor because of the time frame.  Thank you, now you understand your prior fallacy.

If you want to be ignored by some annoying true believer, send this graph. The person will forget you exist for a few months.  Then, all will be forgotten. They will have some new religion to follow.

Have to reboot

The last entry is vaporware.

The image and quote that is missing was likely cut and pasted, rather than uploaded to Blogger. So that can be fixed.

There is, however, a video as noted.  Indeed, there are many videos on You Tube where the former KGB officer explains the plan to subvert the US - and the plan is on target.

More later.
